Thank you for today. Found the case study interesting in terms of expanding the role of the PDA within the college. There are opportunities e.g. arising from the College observation process to involve PDA's in supporting staff. At present there is no clarity for e-learning champion roles and this could be a way forward. Some good ideas for using theory of change to identify problems and I feel I will be able to use the grow model for myself and also with staff. Thanks. Kim

Perspective

This has been a really good day.  Very practical - some great practical stategies and tools to take back to the workplace.

It often seems an effort to maintain a blog and there are obviously many reasons but one of those barriers is the perceived need to blog from a fixed computer at a desk, or using a particular piece of software or access to a webpage to author your new posting. However here's the thing... most blog systems allow posting via email!!!

 

It's safe to say everyone is familiar with using email aren't they?

 

This means you can blog on the move, from a bus or train, (from a car if you're not the driver), from your sofa or breakfast table or even from a beach on holiday if you so wish! ;-)

 

You can also set-up most blogs so that your group of learners can post to the blog by email - again from anywhere and at any time.

 

These emails can contain attachments such as images and sound files as well as text but don't worry many also allow you to moderate content before it appears!

 

We are using http://vox.com for this example but others that you may wish to look at and are used by quite a few MoLeNET projects are sites such as http://posterous.com and http://wordpress.com

I will be sharing the showing 'camstudio' with my collagues as this will be very useful when teaching things such as photoshop.

The 'eduapps' also opens up lots of ideas for new creative approaches to learning
